Lincoln College is a friendly, compact college located in the middle of Oxford on Turl Street. Founded in 1427 by the then Bishop of Lincoln, Richard Fleming, Lincoln has a strong academic tradition and boasts many famous alumni, amongst them: scientist Lord Howard Florey, writer John Le Carré and the inimitable Dr Seuss!

Entry
Primary entrance. Located at Turl Street, OX1 3DR. Unlocked during day. Locked at night. Requires fob access when locked. Can contact Porters via buzzer or phone (01865 279 800)

Access Level
Street level access. No steps. No lift.

Main Gate (Door 1)
130cms wide. Fully flat (slight incline). No power, very heavy. Medieval handle. Can only be opened by porter. Always open during day, however. Contact to open at night.

Main Door (Door 2)
71cms wide. Fully flat. No power, not heavy. Push from outside, pull from inside. Handle height ~140cms high. Normally unlocked, often left ajar. Closed at night and when cold.

Internal Door (Door 3)
97cms wide. Full flat. Power door with push buttons. Locked at night / weekends. Swipe fob to unlock, then press button.

Interior Layout
Can be crowded at peak times, but otherwise spacious.
Porters' counter height: 110cms.
Pidges located at range of heights – can be designated an accessible one.

DINING HALL

Entry
Primary entrance. Located in Front Quad (north-west corner). Unlocked during mealtimes.

Access Level
Ground level access. Small step into dining hall on both aisles (left aisle: 2.1cm / right aisle: 5.6 cm).

Door 1
[XXX] cm wide. Fully flat. No power, not heavy. Handle height ~95cms. Always unlocked during mealtimes. Often left ajar.

Door 2 (Two Doors – Left and Right Aisle Entrances)
80 cm wide. Left-aisle entrance: small step into hall (2.1cm). Right-aisle entrance: higher step into hall (5.6cm). No power, not heavy. Handle height ~95cms. Always open during mealtimes. 

Interior Layout
Spacious aisles, although can be busy during mealtimes.
Table height: 75 cm. Table underbelly height: 71 cm.
Tables have multi-person benches. May be difficult to transfer onto or easily move.

Accessible Dining Table
One designated accessible table at end of Hall (in front of High Table). Enter via left-aisle entrance. Three removable stools (not rather than benches).
Table height: 82 cm. Table underbelly height: 79 cm.

High Table
High Table is located on a raised platform at end of Hall.
Portable ramp available (ask Butler or Kitchen staff).
Ramp width: 76 cm, gentle gradient.

JUNIOR COMMON ROOM

Entry
Primary entrance. Located in Chapel Quad (south-west corner), adjacent to Chapel. Generally unlocked at all times.

Access Level
Ground level access. No step to enter main room of JCR.

Single internal step into kitchenette (10 cm high, 67 cm wide).

External Archway (Outside Door 1):
Archway width: 83 cm. Tight right-hand turn to access Door 1. 

Main Door
73 cm wide. Fully flat. No power, not heavy. Handle height ~110 cm. Push to enter. Generally unlocked.

Interior Kitchenette Door
67 cm wide. Small step to access kitchenette (10 cm high). No power, not heavy. Handle height ~ [XXX] cm. Invariably wedged open.

Interior Layout
Numerous couches with narrow aisles. Aisles reset each day, but couches may move during day. May be difficult to move alone.

Worktop height: 91 cm.
Sink height: 91 cm. No cutaway.

MIDDLE COMMON ROOM

Entry
Primary entrance. MCR located in Garden Building (Ground Level). Entrance via Grove Quad.

Access Level
Ground level access. No steps into the Garden Building. 

NOTE Doors 1 and 2 provide access to Garden Building. Door 3 provides access to MCR itself. Doors 2 and 3 require fob access. 

Door 1 (Entrance to Garden Building)
110cm wide. Full flat. Large medieval door. No power, relatively heavy. To enter, pull on iron door handle. Handle height: 130cm. To exit to Grove Quad, pull on bolt handle. Bolt height: 100cm. 

NOTE Area between Doors 1 and 2 is cramped. Doors open towards each other. 

Door 2 (Entrance to Garden Building)
110 cm wide. Fully flat. No power, not heavy. Locked. Requires fob access. To enter, swipe fob, turn handle and pull. To exit, press green release button, turn handle and push. Fob detector height: 120cm. Release button height: 90. Handle height: 120 cm. 

Door 3 (Entrance to MCR)
93 cm wide. Fully flat. No power, not heavy. Locked. Requires fob access. To enter, swipe fob, turn handle and push. To exit, press brass release button, turn handle and push. Fob detector height: 120cm. Release button height: 120cm. Handle height: 120 cm. 

Interior Layout
Couches and tables. Aisles are spacious and accessible. MCR Counter separated from sink top by wide aisle.

Table height: 76cm (surface). 61cm (space underneath).

NOTE Tables feature a small bar underneath, raised 15cm from the floor. This may obstruct wheelchair access for some.

LIBRARY

Entry
Primary entrance located off Turl Street (High Street end). Locked. Requires fob access for external gates and internal doors.

Access Level
Ground level access. No steps into the Library. Librarian’s Desk and ground floor of Library are wheelchair accessible (incl. designated accessible study carrell). 

NOTE Main (upper) level of Library is inaccessible except via an internal staircase. Librarians can assist with book requests.

External Gates 1 & 2 (Entrance from Turl Street)
External Gate 1 (Turl Street side): 110cm wide.
External Gate 2 (Library-side): 120cm wide.

71 cm wide (each door). 142cm wide (both doors). Locked, relatively heavy. Chaplain and Porters have key.
Single step into Nave area. Step width: 142cm. Step height: 13cm. 
NOTE Portable ramp available. Located next to Door 2 (opposite Door 3).

Nave with aisles on either side. Aisels are inaccessible except via stairs.

Both rooms located in Garden Building (Level 1). Primary entrance via Grove Quad. Rooms joined, but can be split into two separate rooms with separate entrances.

NOTE Oakeshott Room and Langford Room access may need to be pre-booked at Porters’ Lodge.

Flat level access. No steps into the Garden Building. Lift up to Oakeshott and Langford Rooms.

Interior Layout
Underground cavern with booths and tables. Bar service and main (upper) level accessible via permanent ramp. Ramp folds out from eastern wall.

Lift
Stairlift. 76cm wide x 89cm deep. 
Requires key to operate. Key available from Bartender or Porters. Copies available for Lincoln Members.
Lift stored under protective cover to protect from rain. Cover must be removed.
